Standing proud and strong for 17 years and counting, TRUMPETS Playshop has proven time and time again that it is the number one theater workshop in the country.

With classes held not only ever summer but also the whole year long, it has branched out from Shangri-la Plaza Mall to The Podium, The Fort, Alabang Town Center and to schools all around the metro.

Last year, we started Playshop-On-The-Go where Playshop was taken to Cebu and Davao, allowing those outside of Luzon to experience the fun and learning only we can offer.

Over the years, TRUMPETS Playshop has been the training ground for some of the country’s Class-A performers. Heartthrobs Christian Bautista, Gian Magdangal and Sam Concepcion started wowing their teachers and their peers here in Playshop before winning the hearts of local and international TV viewers. We are also proud to call sirens Bituin Escalante and Sweet Plantado-Tiongson of The CompanY, as well as upcoming singers Cheska Ortega, Tippy Dos Santos, and singing duo Candy, our very own.

This year, we decided to take things to the next level with TRUMPETS Playshop 2010: The Play’s the Thing. Taken from one of William Shakespeare’s classic plays, Hamlet, our theme says it all. Over the years, we have taught thousands of students the kind of discipline, passion, and satisfaction one can only get from theater. Yes, it is important to be serious when it comes to expressing your emotions or ideas, but it is also important to have fun (and get to meet new friends) while doing it!

Aside from Musical Theater and Street Dance classes for kids, teens and adults, and Star Power by The Company, we’ve also added new and exciting classes in our 2010 line-up. This summer, we are happy to announce that we will be holding Jazz Class by Hot Legs, Photography for kids, Blogging, and DJ-ing classes for those who want to learn how to take remarkable photos at an early age, write entertaining articles on the internet, and become masters of the radio waves and turntables. But that’s not all! We also have four clinical classes for advanced students and experienced actors: Acting for Film, Dancing for Musical Theater, Master Class and Acting the Song.

Other than the accessibility of Playshop classes, our excellent faculty is also one of the reasons why we are the longest-running summer workshop in the country! With the likes of The Manoeuvers, seasoned veterans Jaime Del Mundo, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Liesl Batucan, and Jun Ofrasio, as well as young buzz-worthy thespians such as Caisa Borromeo, Ring Antonio and Johann Dela Fuente teaching our classes, we are able to provide students knowledge and inspiration to become brilliant performers and teachers in the future.

In fact, those who have literally grown during our workshops – or in other words “graduates” of Playshop – are now part of our esteemed faculty and have started making names for themselves in the entertainment industry both here and abroad. No wonder more and more students keep on coming back every year!
